The type field in the Equipment update detail is automatically updated during the automatic audits.

The audit program matches motherboard ID bytes with the lookup list that you build as you audit your PCs. The program recognizes motherboards, not PC. Thus different PC using the exact same motherboard will be reported as the same type. Also, same identical PC may actually use differnt motherboards inside, they will e reported as different PC types.

The PC type lookup data is contained in the lkup.dat table or file.
