Exporting data from NetKeeper.

Three basic methods:

1- Use the CCVT utility
2- Use the Report Writer
3- Use the API

Using the CCVT utility.
1- All users must exit the program
2- Open a command box (DOS box) and navigate to the directory where you installed NetKeeper.
3- At the DOS prompt type:
CCVT (and press enter)
4-Select CLARION as input file
5-Enter the name of the input file (see your database layout listing, NKFILES.CLA or NKCAP.CLA)
6-Select the output type. We suggest BASIC (comma delimited ASCII file)
7-Enter the name of the output file. This should not be the same as the name of the input file.
8-Press CTRL+ENTER to start the export

Using the Report Writer
You can create a comma delimited file with the Report Writer. This is a very easy and versatile method as other users may continue to use NetKeeper. Also, you can export data from several tables at once and you can select ranges.
1- Start Report Writer
2- Create a report as usual but do not enter headers or footers.
3- To create comma delimited data, enclose the data in " and separate the data items with a ",". Example "cdm:name","cim:name"
You can also create a calculated field and build the line as needed.
4- Print the report to the windows TEXT printer and set up the TEXT printer to print to a file.

Using the API
The NetKeeper API is available to create your own programs into the NetKeeper database. This is the same API used to create the NetKeeper programs. For more information contact your NetKeeper representative.
