Damaged data files or tables and data is missing
Document ID : 000-000374 Created: 8/27/1999 Last changed on: 8/27/1999

Data in one or more data tables (files) is missing.

Typical cause:
A server or communications crash damaged one or more tables. Servers often keep unsaved data in memory and the data held in memory is lost when the server crashes.

File recovery utilities (such as database utilities, CSRT or CFIL) were used to rebuild the damaged tables. However some records (rows) are missing from the recovered tables. As the program adds new records, attachments to the missing records are attached to the new records because they have the same unique ID.

Solution:
1- Restore all files from a good backup. This is the best solution.

2- Keep working with the current files, eventually the problem will self fix. Instruct your personnel to check for "phantom" or incorrect attachments to the service call when the call is entered. Delete these incorrect attachments such as notes or to-dos.

WARNING: Run database recovery utilities or CSRT or CFIL (depending on your database back-end) verify and recover the damaged tables before adding new records. You need to make sure that all files and index files are valid. Call tech support if you have any questions.
