Setting audit intervals in the NKAUDIT.EXE 32 bit audit utility
Document ID : 000-000380 Created: 8/31/1999 Last changed on: 8/31/1999
Use the NKAUDIT.EXE command line options to set the audit intervals:
[NO=xxx Audit only if the last audit was performed over xxx days ago for hardware audit only in NKAUDIT.EXE (32 bits)
[CD=XXX Run the configuration audit only if the last configuration audit was performed over xxx days ago. 32 bits only
[SD=XXX Run the software audit only if the last software audit was performed over xxx days ago. 32 bits only
[SC Skip the configuration audit 32 bits only
[SS Skip the software audit 32 bits only
Examples:
1- Run all audits every 30 days:
NKAUDIT [NO=30
2- Run the hardware audit every 30 days but skip the configuration audit:
NKAUDIT [NO=30 [SC
3- Run the hardware audit every 30 days and the software audit every 180 days:
NKAUDIT [NO=30 [SD=180
Notes:
*- The [NO= parameter determines how often the base audit (hardware) runs. You cannot run the Configuration or the Software audit without running the hardware audit.
*- The NKAUDIT.EXE utility will always load to check if a new audit is due. Use login script parameters (see your network operating system docs) to schedule the NKAUDIT program so it will only load at specific intervals
*- You can use any scheduler (including Windows' scheduler) to run the NKAUDIT at predetermined intervals, just like a backup program.
