Delete and re-create a MS SQL Full-Text Catalog
Document ID : 000-000905 Created:10/11/2004 Last changed on:10/11/2004
Applies to : MS SQL 2000

The best way to reset the MS Text search engine is as follows:

*-Backup your database
*-Open Enterprise Manager (MS SQL utility)
*-Expand the server tree and locate the NetKeeper database in use
*-Expand the database tree and locate the Full-Text Catalog entry
*-Click on the Full-Text Catalog Entry
*-Delete the NetKeeper_Text catalog. This is just the index and does not
delete data from the database.
*-Right mouse click on Full-Text Catalogs and select New Full-Text catalogs
*-Create a new NetKeeper_Text full text catalog
*-Start Query Analyzer (MS SQL Utility)
*-Login and select the correct database
*-Open the SQL script file named FULLTEXT.SQL
*-If necessary change the line "USE NETKEEPER" to use the correct database.
this is necessary if you have named the database something other than
"NETKEEPER"
*-Run the script.
Notes: *- Ignore errors similar to "You must first create..."
*- If SQL returns you must first enable the text search engine, then
run the stored procedure mentioned by the error
*-In Enterprise Manager, right mouse click on the new NetKeeper_Text catalog
and select "Start Full Polulation"

Note : You can continue to use the program while the text catalog is rebuilt.
However, the text search functions will not work.
